Music and Lyrics

Music and Lyrics stars Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore as the lead pair.
The movie is about a Alex Fletcher (Grant) who's in his 40's and was once a part of a famous pop group which incidentally was also called "Pop". The group has split and Fletcher is living off its past glory.
He is in search of one break through which will bring him back to being a star in the present.
Enter a wannabe Shakira who's the new teen singing sensation and is looking to do a song with anyone who can write one in 4 days.
Thats where our lady Miss Sophie Fischer (Barrymore) comes in and unwillingly becomes the lyricist for Fletcher's music writing. Together the team goes through its upheavels of creating the so-called masterpiece.
In between there's love and romance and skeletons from the lead pairs closets are disclosed. Quite unwanted actually.
In the end all's well that ends well and love wins all.
The movie tries desperately to be one in the romantic comedy genre but doesn't quite make it.
Grant looks old & Barrymore doesn't seem interested. The teen sensation is more interested in sexual gyrating and pretending to be influenced by Buddha.
Not a happening movie unless you have nothing better to do.
